Strength/Skill Work: Turkish Get-up Review

Partner WOD

With a partner perform as many TGUs as possible in 20 minutes.  Only one person may work at a time.  Split it up however you choose, but be sure to balance out work per arm.

Men’s Rx’d weight 1.5 pood kettlebell, Women’s Rx’d weight 1 pood kettlebell.

****Please remember: It is not too late to register for Heartstrings.  Please contact Shanna or go to the Heartstrings website .   If you are unable to register for a team or participate that day, please consider sponsoring a CFA team member.  Every dollar amount no matter how large or small will make a difference!

This event is a great way for CFA to give back to the entire Asheville community and help those less fortunate have access to often necessary healthcare.  Thank you to all of those that have donated thus far!***

Wow, did I grumble when I saw this WOD today. TGUs the whole time? Seriously? I’m so bad at TGUs and they are so boring. Where is my barbell? Ah, I love it when I have to eat my own words. Okay, maybe this isn’t going to be in my top 5 favorite WODs anytime soon, but amazingly, I am now better at TGUs! See how that works? “CONSTANTLY VARIED functional movements executed at high intensity.” Because if it were up to me, I’d probably do clean and jerks and double unders all day long, haha.

If you aren’t participating in Heartstrings, please sponsor ME!!! I will be competing in the Garage Games that weekend, but I want to do my part for Heartstrings. I also really, really want Miriam to have to do a burpee on live television, heh. https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanced/default.aspx?wid=24183. C’mon, you know you want to…

Great stuff. I feel so much better about TGU’s now. In addition to all of the other coaches I want to thank coaches David and Daniel for their encouragement this morning.

  • Lizard

I have some sexy sexy bruised knees – I hope this does not indicate bad form. Totally worth it!

  • tara

We all need to line up for a group photo with our bruised knees. Mine look like I’ve been whacked with a bat.

  • M3

i’d say you wouldn’t want to be dropping to your knees hard enough to bruise…
