Dude, I don’t even know what to say without being super cheesy and potentially ruining my badass image, haha. 6:00 am crew – Tom, Rustan, Charlie, Daniel, Robert, Aidan, Betsy, Lauren (please don’t tell me I’m missing someone), and of course, Shanna and Corey – THANK YOU! Yeah, yeah, I know that no one can do the work for me, but it sure helps to have someone standing next to you for every last pullup telling you to get your skinny ass back on the bar. I love you, guys. Thanks for being my second family. 42 freaking pullups. Tomorrow is a REST DAY.

  • Tom

That was a memorable crossfit moment for sure. Totally awesome. Hey did I hear that tbone went home and did 30 dead hang pullups later this am? Thats insane.

  • Mr K

Tamara you inspired me to do the WOD without bands and I finished last in the 8:40 class (but I finished)!

  • T-Bone

Bwahahaha, oh, did you “hear” that Tom? What…was it on WLOS or something :) ? But, yeah, I taped my rip and went outside BEFORE it started snowing. 30 dead hangs. I guess I will only get better at pullups by doing more pullups, no? Although now that I have done C&Js, deadlifts, sandbag carries, burpees, KB swings, etc. in the freezing cold rain, sleet and mud, I can’t really use the excuse that I am not doing pullups outside because it is snowing.

Mr. K, way to rock it. You crushed my time for sure, haha. Sweet. I was last for a long time in every WOD, especially WODs with running. It drove me crazy. I can’t even remember when I started NOT being last. And, now that I am doing more things Rx’d, I’m sometimes last again…like today. But, now, it’s okay.

“Until the roof, the roof comes off. Until my legs give out from underneath me. I will not fall. I will stand tall. Feels like no one could beat me.”

I love L-sits. I could have hung out at that station all day long. Apparently, I have an “advantage” because I’m short. Ummm, guys, I’m anywhere from 10-30 years older than most of y’all. And speaking as a life-long height-challenged person, it’s about frickin’ time that I get some kind of advantage.

PS–Short people did NOT have the advantage on the burpee broad jump. My frog didn’t exactly fly.

I am so upset that I missed today. I have not gone to a day with a programmed rope climb. I’m sure I’ll suck at it, but I’ve been looking forward to trying.

Miriam, I am 5 foot nothing and my L sit sucks. Maybe you are just good at L sits. I do however recognize the disadvantage of box jumps for those of us who are vertically challenged. I don’t care what you say if you put the plane that one must jump to at thigh level verse knee level it is harder. Conversly, I will also admit that pistols onto the box when you are short are just not that much of a challenge, since the plane is closer to your backside as oppose to the back of your knee.

  • What a blast it is to be a part of this crew.

Miriam, I have seen you do an L-sit, and it has nothing to do with being short. You are just crazy good at L-sits. Really. You should be challenging people to L-sit competitions left and right.

Amanda, you should try the rope climb as soon as possible…preferably not on a day when you then have to do 42 pullups after. I am terrified of heights, as in I can’t stand on a kitchen chair to change a light bulb, but I can climb the rope. I do usually close my eyes on the way down, though. Jay-R laughs at me because I climb the rope but am too scared to get on the 3′ high balance beam during gymnastics.

I love this crew too! Thank you, very short and very tall people, for validating my L-sit skills. Frankly, it’s my only native talent when it comes to Crossfit, which is why I revel in it when I get to do L-sits. I have no clue why I am good at it because I am certainly less fit and more decrepit than the rest of you. Perhaps I am using the same vestigal muscles that I used to push 4 kids out of my body 10-18 years ago? Who knows. I’m a crossfit L-sit freakshow. I did a 40 second L sit and could have continued except I was laughing too hard. My short-term goal is to last a minute.
