Last week, I went to the doctor for my annual physical. She about had a heart attack when she walked in the room. She liked my arms, haha…and the fact that I’ve lost 40 lbs. And, boy, was she curious about my blood work. I’ve never had a cholesterol problem, but she was a little freaked about what I do and don’t eat and how much fish oil I take. I admit, I was curious myself. I went Paleo October 12, so it’s been 7 months. I’m not strict Paleo now because I eat things like beans and potatoes, but I eat a clean diet that’s about 50% fat. And, the results were:
Total Choleserol = 166, Triglycerides = 44, LDL = 71, HDL = 86, Chol/HDL Ratio = 1.9.
Hahahaha. She loves me.
So, how many of you jumped on the Paleo challenge bandwagon on January 1? How many of you are still eating clean? And, how many of you have yet to give it a try?
If you’re not tired of hearing my thoughts on life, check out my post today on Paleochix.com. And, who could ever get tired of listening to me?
Where are the individual and affiliate team WODs for the Southeast Regional? Today is the announcement day isn’t it? I can’t find them on the Games website. Thanks.
Tamara – She probably had a heart attack due to the purple hair…
Found them.
i am about to have convulsions – THIS is one of my all time favorite workouts and i don’t have a spot at the gym today
i WISH there was a night class tonight
T- That’s an awesome story. I need to go get my numbers checked too.

I’m so excited about regionals I can’t stand it. Not nervous anymore. We’re gonna kill it.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I am still eating clean (not 100% paleo) and loving it. My body revolts when I don’t eat well. I feel weak during wods, I get headaches and I’m a little cranky. This is all the motivation that I need to stay away from sugar and other processed foods. Eating well has become a habit…second nature.
Thanks, Carly. WE ARE READY TO ROCK IN JACKSONVILLE!
I am 100% paleo, and no drinking for 72 days. Im shrinking! GOOD LUCK CFA! You guys are totally rad. Rock it!
Competitors – You’ve worked hard for this and you are ready!!! Be safe and have a great time! Oh, and it wouldn’t hurt to GET some great times too. Best of luck!
Heather, that is awesome!
Thanks for the support, guys. We are ready to kick some ass and grab some spots to California!
I’d love a trip to LA… Our team is powerful because of the push we all get each day by others’ progress. The CrossFit Asheville team represents us all. Thank you for all the well wishes, now let’s move some heavy shit.
today while i was doing the childcare i watched the 9 am class kill it. just watching my fellow crossfitters in action was so inspiring…i wanted nothing more than to be down there doing deadlifts! you all motivate me!
Go CrossFit Asheville!
Put me in the “clean” / 85% Paleo eating camp. Carly is right: eating well becomes second nature.
