100531 Monday “The Summit”

Please remember that CFA is closed today for Memorial Day!

DIY WOD

5 rounds of

200 meter run followed by
max rep burpees, in 2 minutes.

2 minutes rest between rounds.

Post total burpees to comments.

You have two minutes total to complete the run and burpees. For example, if it takes you 45 seconds to run 200 meters, then you have 1:15 to do max rep burpees; if it takes you 60 seconds to do your 200 meters, you have 60 seconds to do max rep burpees. Then rest 2 minutes, and continue your work.

Good luck!

Hey there. Anybody doing this WOD anywhere today?

  • Micah

Red Foot, I may try it later. We were going to try to hit the woods for a bike ride, but the rain/thunder/lightning is making it seem less than inviting.

UNCA track at 6:30 am: 5 rounds of 200m runs with total of 47 burpees in the rain. Had lots of grass stuck to my body from the burpees. Brit, Angela and I did this WOD. I think the 2 min. rest was too much. We jogged in between but we should have scaled it to 1 min rest in between.

Does anybody know where I can get used, affordable but quality bar, plates and clips? I looked on line at Again Faster at their barbell and bumper set and just about had a heart attack at the cost.

Kim, Good for you, Brit and Angela for getting out there and doing the WOD. Like Red Foot, I am interested in working out with others on days that CFA is closed or any other improptu WODs. If you guys think of it, please include me in your workouts in the future. It can get pretty lonely and de-motivating doing burpees on one’s own, especially in the pouring rain in my backyard with my obese, cigarette smoking nosy neighbor hanging out on his back porch staring at me. And I think I squished a few worms in the process. A completely yucky experience.

    Thanks, M

  • Good advice on the rest adjustment Kim. I appreciate the feedback. I hope you are all doing well. And I look forward to being back in the gym with y’all next week. In the meantime keep up all your hard work!

Miriam, check out play it again sports on tunnel. They have never had bumper plates but you could get a bar there and some metal plates fairly cheap in thier used section. They also occasionally have used KB’s

  • I just bought a set of plates and a bar from a Play it Again in Portland. But their used selection was no good, so I just bought the new stuff. Made in China of course. I wish I’d had time to track down something good on Craig’s List.
