WOD
In teams of 3-4 complete a 5,000m row in increments of 500m (each person rows a minimum of two 500ms). Those not rowing take turns moving bar weight of your choice from the ground to overhead. Each team may have two bars, but each person must decide upon bar weight at the start. Only one person per team lifting at a time.
Every 25lbs overhead= 1 second off 5k row time! (ie. 100lbs = 4 seconds off overall 5k time)

Great WOD. I am glad that the higher math skills required to determine our score will be calculated by our calculus instructor, Shanna. All I can handle about now is trying to remember my home address.
yay! Rowing is my favorite
This one sounds like fun! And such a bonding experience, right Mark? (I picture you skipping with a basket for blueberries!). Couldn’t motivate myself to get out to the garage -by myself again – this morning, so have a call out to a friend who attends a CF locally. But, I found a RED SHIRT and had it all layed out to wear this morning. . .WOD in Albany sounds lame to me today, but it’s not like they could hope to compare to AVL. Miss you guys!!
That was such a fun WOD today and I keep thinking how to make the transitions on the rower more efficient. I do beleive the tip from Shanna to really “speed up” the row before transitioning is great in that when the next person climbs on, you already have about 25 meters in “coast”. If you really want to be inspired with your team’s effort, calculate the total weight the team put overhead during the WOD. We were in the 16750 pound range or about the weight of 4 automobiles!
great wod! i am still smiling because i finally got my kipping pull-ups!
Wow Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you!

Later in afternoon Sean, Corey, Anne, Shanna and Brian C. sat around trying to figure out if we could come up with an effort to produce an overall time of zero (and/or negative). Since we had 5 people we decided to row 7,000m but still used two bars (75lbs and 52lbs) we did allow the guys to switch between the bars so that was another exception to the original rules. In the end the overall 7k time was 27:50 and ended up with 324 reps at 75lbs and 362 reps at 52lbs this is a total output of 43,124 lbs overhead and an overall time of NEGATIVE 1:34! Yes, we are CrossFit nerds.
Thank you to J$ for tallying reps and calculating our results! Thanks for T-Bone for keeping future CF Kids Ari and Henry out of the street! Thank you to Jay-R for helping us transition on the rower and to everyone for keeping the spirits high.
What a great Friday! For those we do not see tomorrow have a fun and relaxing weekend!
You guys are CROSSFIT DORKS. Negative time? Really? Yet we still love you.

“Wow! Look at those guns!”
Nice lack of filtering your comments, Seth.
This community is just too darned small.
Since you have too much time on your hands and wanted to try to figure out a way the end up with a negative time, allow me to offer up a solution that is a “relatively” easy way to accomplish this feat. Thanks to Albert, we know that E=MC squared, where E= energy, M= mass, and C= the speed of light. If you increased the Energy output till the Mass (rower and rowee) were moving at the speed of light squared (186000 miles per second squared), the timer would begin to move backwards and you could end the WOD before you began. No need for weight to overhead. Problem is solved!
Wait, I forgot the best line… My solution is so simple, even a caveman (on a paleo diet) can do it!
Just saw a lady from crossfit roots give a demo on Tour de France coverage. Sweet.
I loved today!
GREAT PIC.
I didn’t get internet access until today, but thanks for letting me stop by and do the WOD with you yesterday. I was able to wear my red CF Asheville shirt today to say goodbye to my friend who is on her way to Afghanistan.
Wow! Betsy, Britt and Tom- We shaved 11:04 off of our time with our overheads. That’s downright amazing. Way to go team.
Those of us who only had 3 on a team are throbbing in pain right now. Ow. Ow. Ow.
I knew I’d be sorry I wasn’t there – except for that whole scene where you guys went superdork on us!!! You’re just so darn loveable!
