Closing due to weather?!?

Luckily for y’all the majority of our CFA coaching staff grew up in more northern climates. As a result a “snow storm” for y’all would be considered “flurries” for us. So. unless a “state of emergency” is declared and people are asked not to drive we will be open. (And last year we were still open during some of these days.)

You northerners are such SNOBS about your lack of concern about snow. Get with the program and be scared of flurries, will ya? Welcome to the south and denial that winter exists here. You can see my rants on Facebook about this annually when the schools start closing. The Asheville City School officials do not like me one bit during winter.

Anyway, I loved the WOD this morning. It was yet another “seemingly easy on whiteboard but highly exerting in execution” workout. I’m savoring the endorphin high.

y’all crack me up saying “y’all” ;-) great workout this morning. I’ve been thinking about what Miriam said re posting numbers on the class board in the discussion about what does “fitness” mean. I always post mine and I finally realize why — so I can own what I accomplished whether I feel it measured up or not. I used to be embarrassed to post numbers since I’d compare mine to others. Now, instead of comparing, I just keep putting them up there, and knowing that I’ll keep coming back. Maybe it’s also like a ritual that keeps me feeling tied to the community. Anyhow, I really appreciate and value all the discussion around Corey’s Sunday post.

My thoughts are similar to Aidan’s – I love to post my numbers, not as a comparison to other member’s scores (obviously), but as a validition to myself that I completed (survived?) another CrossFit WOD. It is a happy little moment of accomplishment, no matter how I stack up to the other scores.
PS – I applaud the coaches for not fearing the weather! During my first year here, I took my poor kids to school on several occasions only to show up to an empty building. It hadn’t occured to me to check for school cancellations when there was nothing but 5 snowflakes blowing around!!
