About CrossFit

CrossFit is about utilizing your training to benefit your daily life. Whether your goal is the Olympic Games or to remain independent and live on your own for as long as possible CrossFit will benefit you.

The words of CrossFit founder, Greg Glassman, best describe this concept:

“People’s needs differ by degree not kind. Olympic athletes and our grandparents both need to fulfill their potentials for cardiorespiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, speed, power, coordination, accuracy, balance, and agility. One is looking for functional dominance the other for functional competence. Competence and dominance manifest and optimize through identical physiological mechanisms. We scale our program by altering rest, load, intensity, etc. while utilizing the same tools (exercises) for everyone whenever possible.”

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program based on constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity.

It develops a strong, balanced, and efficient athletic base upon which sport-specific training is more effective. Regardless of your sport or competitive level you will feel solid, move efficiently, and recover quickly reducing risk for injury while increasing overall athleticism.

The full range fundamental exercises utilized in CrossFit programming are effective because they translate into movements performed in everyday life not simply athletics.

The movements often expose and rehabilitate old injuries and compensations strengthening that “unstable shoulder” and “bad knee”. From fall prevention to reduction of osteoporosis CrossFit training will get you moving the way nature intended and improve your overall health.
