Lauren made it safely to Thailand with only one part missing from her bike … with a replacement part found, she has cycled north through the country, then across Laos. On the way, she met the man who holds the world record for biking across the world the fastest (106 days), visited Four Thousand Islands in southern Laos, took a boat up the Mekong River, and discovered Jhai Coffee House in Paksong, where she happened to meet a UNCA graduate!
Lauren says, “Finally made it to Hanoi, Vietnam after some of the sketchiest bus rides of my life and 48+ hours later. Have to say that I prefer the squatty potty over being thrashed around a mini bathroom bus toilet.
Other side of front rack broke and duct tape and zip ties have become my new best friend. Then I realized after getting bike “cleaned” they put WD-40 on my chain.
Getting ready to start biking the coast of Vietnam which was rated top 10 places in the world to bike. Only 3 weeks left before we have to fly back home. Miss you friends!”

If you’ve never participated in a weightlifting meet, this is a great opportunity to learn everything you need to know before you do your first sanctioned meet. If you don’t want to lift but want to see what a sanctioned meet is like before taking the plunge, you can stop by the gym to watch! No charge for spectators.

17 classes- The first class is free, after that you may pay for the entire semester, or we can set up a monthly auto draft (see below).
*Preschool classes meet on Mondays from 3:15-4:00pm. This includes 3-6 year olds but is based loosely on age and more on readiness and ability.
*Elementary classes meet on Mondays from 4:30-5:15pm. This includes 7- 10 year olds (see above).
*Preteen classes meet on Fridays from 4:30-5:15. This includes 11-14 year olds (see above).
There is a minimum of 3 kiddos and a maximum of 13 per class.

Kiddos should be dressed ready to move in comfortable clothing. We may practice climbing ropes so a pair of long socks will be helpful. We have a water fountain available and please bring a healthy snack for after the workout.

A soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. The therapy relaxes contracted muscles, improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles. The tissue is loaded with a constant force until neurological and myofascial release occurs. Thai Yoga Massage -
This therapeutic session treats the full body and is performed on a floor mat with loose comfortable clothing on. Rhythmic rocking and movement is used to guide you into deep stretches and yoga postures which will increase mobility. Compressions are applied to the fascia and muscles which promotes blood, lymph and energy flow. It is a restorative and calming treatment which promotes the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing for management of stress. After a Thai Yoga bodywork treatment many people report feeling both relaxed and energized at the same time. It is a wonderful complement to strength and conditioning training. Active individuals especially appreciate the movement and stretching and it is a wonderful form of active recovery.
Each session is tailored to your goals. Modalities included are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Clinical, Sports massage (Pre Event, Post Event and Training), Tuina, Thai and Acupressure. This treatment is performed on a massage table.
